Switching from Transcy

Switch from Transcy to Sorveno Translate

Start with the translations you already have. Sorveno adopts translations stored in Shopify and protects your edits while you translate more of your store.

Pricing and fit

Transcy lists plans at $14.90, $29 and $69 per month with word/character quotas. These facts are as of September 2026, according to their listings. See source below.

Sorveno Translate

Flat monthly pricing by product count: $19 for up to 1,000 products, $39 for up to 5,000, or $79 for up to 20,000. Every plan includes a 14-day trial and unlimited languages and words within Shopify’s limit of 20 languages per store.

Translations are written to Shopify’s native translation storage through the Translations API and remain after uninstall. No theme code, proxy or DNS changes are needed.

Automatic locks for hand-edited translations, a change log with one-click restore, a glossary, per-language tone, and Japanese UI and support help you manage ongoing translation.

How to switch

  1. Check and save your existing work

Before changing apps, check which translations are stored in Shopify and keep a copy of your edited text. Confirm export options and uninstall behavior with your current app before removing it.

  2. Plan for translations outside Shopify

Sorveno can adopt only translations already stored in Shopify. If your current setup keeps translations outside Shopify, such as in a proxy or JavaScript layer, export them where available and manually re-enter them in Shopify, or re-translate with Sorveno. Sorveno has no file-import feature; an export is a reference for manual work.

  3. Install and review native translations

Install Sorveno and choose your languages. Existing Shopify translations are adopted and locked automatically. Translations Shopify marks as outdated may be refreshed, with their previous versions kept in the change log. Review locks and history before translating further.

  4. Translate and check your storefront

Translate missing content, set your glossary and per-language tone, and check the storefront in each language. Verify that the translations you need are stored in Shopify before deciding whether to uninstall your previous app.

Frequently asked questions

Will Sorveno preserve my edited translations?

Existing translations stored in Shopify are adopted and locked automatically, as are hand-edited translations. Locked items are skipped by automatic runs. If Shopify marks an existing translation as outdated because its source changed, Sorveno may refresh it and keeps the previous version in the change log. Review your translations and use one-click restore when needed.

Can I import an export from Transcy?

Sorveno does not offer a file-import feature. It adopts translations already stored in Shopify. For translations stored elsewhere, export where available and manually re-enter them in Shopify, or re-translate with Sorveno.

How does Sorveno pricing differ?

Sorveno charges a flat monthly price by product count: $19, $39 or $79, with a 14-day trial. Languages and words are unlimited within Shopify’s limit of 20 languages per store.
